Samsung Galaxy S20 series has finally gone official and just like the last year, the company has launched three phones in the series. But, compared to the last time, the new lineup doesn’t include any Lite or a variant with an “e” suffix. There is one standard Galaxy S20, a Plus variant, and an Ultra version as well which is the highest-end model among them. So, here, the standard model is the cheapest in the lineup, but Samsung continued its strategy of offering three models at one time.

The headliner is the 5G connectivity with all the three phones, and this makes them Samsung’s first all 5G flagship lineup, though the Galaxy S20 does include a Sub6 LTE version as well. Samsung is proud to announce that its all the new Galaxy S-series phones have 5G connectivity, Dr. TM Roh, President and Head of Mobile Communications Business, Samsung Electronics said,

As we enter this new decade, 5G will completely change how we communicate and how we experience the world around us. As all three Galaxy S20 variants come with 5G connectivity, Samsung is providing a next-generation device for transforming people’s lives. With an incredible, AI-powered camera, you can capture the moments as they happen and connect more seamlessly with the people you love.”

There is a big change in the camera arrangement on the rear. Compared to the last year’s horizontal strip of cameras, the new lineup includes a big rectangle on the left side which houses multiple cameras. While the Galaxy S20 includes three camera sensors, the Galaxy S20 Plus, and the S20 Ultra have more cameras. The Galaxy S20 includes a 6.2-inch display and also has a 3.5mm headphone jack as well.

Samsung Galaxy S20 and S20 Plus

The Galaxy S20 includes a 12MP wide-angle Dual Pixel sensor with f/1.8 aperture, 64MP telephoto lens with 3x hybrid optical zoom, and a 12MP ultrawide sensor with f/2.2 aperture. The Galaxy S20 Plus has the same set of camera specifications, plus an additional 0.3MP ToF 3D sensor as well. On the other hand, the Galaxy S20 Ultra has a 108MP wide-angle sensor with f/1.8 aperture, 48MP periscope telephoto lens with 10x hybrid optical zoom, 12MP ultrawide lens with f/2.2 aperture, and a 0.3MP ToF 3D depth sensor.

The Galaxy S20 and S20 Plus have the same 10MP selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture, whereas the Ultra variant has a 40MP selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture. All of them have the capability to capture 2160p videos at 30/60fps and 1080p videos at 30fps.

Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra

The main highlight of the Galaxy S20 Ultra is the Space Zoom technology that lets you zoom objects available far far away from you. The phone uses the combination of Hybrid Optic Zoom and Super-Resolution Zoom which equates to 100X.

According to Samsung, the S20 Ultra is using multi-image processing to reduce quality loss at high zoom levels. Another great feature is the 8K video capturing which means you can now create 8K content and stream it right on to your Samsung QLED 8K TV. You can also share these 8K videos on YouTube. Samsung says that it has partnered with YouTube so that you can upload your 8K videos directly to YouTube.
